  ok here is my entry into this weeks The Line it is Drawn try out! Based on this weeks theme "team-up two comic book charactes that have never teamed-up before" and a provided list of 339 suggestions i decided to go with Iron Man and Hardware for obvious reasons they are just two really kick ass characters.

I really had fun with this and its been a while since i have even played with any main stream characters and after this i look forward to working with more.

Fantastic Kick!

The Unprofessionals is now completely funded!

Excited to wake up this morning only to find out that the Kickstarter project -The Unprofessionals, a sociopathic bromance graphic novel by Alexis Cruz (Drag me to hell, Stargate)and Mythmakers Group got completely funded!

I feel very fortunate to be apart of this dream become reality!

Status Update!

The beings of Earth fight for their race's survival against an enemy they know nothing about. The Hoodratz search planet after planet seeking the source responsible for the attacks. To save Earth these music stars-in-the-making must find the enemy's control nexus and destroy it!

with production almost completed on the first issue of Hoodratz In Space i am so amped up that i cant wait to get this book out and in the hands of fans of this upcoming series.

 Ok here we go Hoodratz In Space #1 page 01 inks. Thats right finally getting things rolling with this eagerly anticipated comic book series thats been in the making for several years. Hoodratz In Space is created by me and written by the talented Jackie Cannon .Yes I will be doing all the artwork for this fun and exciting story and I plan to destroy any early thoughts you may have about this series. When you see the final product dont blame me if your left going WOW!

Why has it taken so long?

From the first day i decided i wanted to do this series I wanted the art to be stunning and decided to wait as long as I could to perfect my craft. Well although im never 100% satisfied with my artwork things are looking pretty good so far.

So buckle up everybody here comes the Hoodratz!

This is a sinister Aock Scout an infantry helper of the alien race know across the galaxy only as the Aocks. Specializing in communications and recon activities these bad guys are not to be trusted for they are forever dedicated to their Aock leaders.

I really enjoyed working on this one in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month Micheal Moore wanted to go with a theme that captured the women of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and also incorporating the highly recognized pink ribbon. Throwd:Goth Damned

In 2007 I was a guest of the Dallas Comic-Con with fellow artists and friends that I usually associated with at the Dallas show. While having a conversation regarding future projects I had been thinking about working on at the time in which i'm very sure it was something Sci-fi because that is my favorite genre to work in.
Kevin Steele who is a good friend of mines suggested I try something more Urban, agreeing with Kevin I was immediately interested to see what I could come up.

I believe I was currently working as an Assistant Store Manager at a local Blockbuster store in Cedar Hill, Texas"Welcome to Blockbuster!"
in my Mark Brooks voice (inside joke) when one night during the summer in walks a father who I had seen frequent the store on many occasions but tonight he brought with him his fiery young daughter who I never got a chance to meet personally but I was overwhelmed by her appearance...

Long Red hair, red shoes, red shorts, white tank top, all with an attitude to match. I remember instinctly grabbing a piece of receipt paper and immediately sketching her outfit!

"She looks like a comic book character!"
I remember thinking to myself! I now had my main character but I needed a story...

I was born in Dallas,Texas (Oak Cliff) and years before I attended the Art Institute of Dallas I had a Hip-Hop recording career in which I had a unique view of the world of hip-hop and the mean, unforgiving streets that it exists in but I had always kept the two worlds (comics and hip-hop) separate, but decided I would blend them both to create something special that I along with other peeps who loved hip-hop and comics as much as I do could be proud of.

Down south if something is not right or slightly not normal we call it
Throwed or Throwd...
Urban Dictionary defines it this way...

1) Throwd-To be fly , pimp , hood
Im soo "Throwd" in da game.

2) Throwd-Sexy, hot, cute, fine, etc.
He/She is so throwd.

Later that year after I had done a few individual 5 page short stories to test my ideas for the Throwd series I was surprised at the responses I was getting from peeps who became fans of the story and characters. I was even approached by a local film producer to create a feature length movie based on my Throwd series.

In 2008 i decided to step it up...22 pages but still not 100% sure on the look and feel of the artwork and with the main story still in development I hooked up with Kevin Steele who at the time was constantly inviting me out to attend the "Church" which I believe is a Goth club, and Kevin is no stranger to the Goth world here in Dallas, Texas and is a talented artist himself with a very unique style.

So over a few beers I thought we could do a story that leads our heroine into the under belly of the Goth world...

and we did just that...

Status Update!

Peacekeeper: Old World Order part 2 (PK2)It's been 2 years since the release of Peacekeeper: Old World Order part 1 and alot has changed since then like my modest ability to color things a little better, my entire approach to storytelling has changed as well as technique and my turn around speed has improved significantly.

Therefore the production of PK2 has a very different but very cool look and feel than PK1 which was never released in color at least not yet.

Adaption-

I have had to make a very big change to my finished artwork in order for me to release the amount of work I have been hoping and praying to do such as Hoodratz in Space, Throwd and many other titles i am looking forward to completing very soon and i'm sure everyone who is a fan of my work will notice it immediately.

I personally enjoy the new look and I am looking to embrace and improve on it more with every piece of artwork I do.

PK2 is a 22page story in full color with alot of great action drawn by ME and written and created by Me!

Moon Knight!

After several years of developing my art skills I am seriously about to attempt to knock down the doors of the big 3. This is my initial character design for Moon Knight, who is the hero in one of the many Marvel sample scripts I have been provided. I am very excited to see what happens! Stay tuned!

El Gato Negro!
To jump off my Mainstream Monday posts I decided to do Richard Dominguez's El Gato Negro. El Gato Negro is one of my favorite characters that i have always wanted to work with and I believe it was one of the first creator owned comics I ever witnessed when i first started doing conventions way back when.

Urban Senate!

Here is the logo I re-designed for Urban Senate an independent publisher based in Austin,Texas. Urban Senate is also the publisher of the Saint comic book series in which I penciled, inked, colored, and lettered Saint issue #2 of this series and i am currently signed on to do Saint issue #3 written by Wayne Jackson. This is actually a redesign of the logo that they previously had a rough version of already done. Looking forward to fans of my artwork to have a chance to pick up a copy of this book very soon.

Zombie Fishermen!

Zombie Fishermen artwork i just finished for my good peeps over at Antarctic-Press! Decided to publish my process for this artwork, enjoy!


This is the final piece i actually have 3 renditions regular water, muddy water but my favorite is the bloody water! Yikes!

Pencils-Still my favorite phase of the process!

Layout- i try to spend as much time in this phase of the process to save myself from the frustration of getting to the last phase and realizing i hadnt worked out something earlier.

i love to use Sharpies to work out the blacks!
