Sketch Card Mania!

 

Although I have been fortunate to already be doing sketchcards for the cool peeps at Marvel / Upperdeck I never miss an oppurtunity to learn how to do anything better so I decided to order a copy of Sketch Card Mania by Randy Martinez and Denise Vasquez and it finally arrived today!

Saint #3 production continues...

Ok with all the work that im doing these days I am happy to be getting ever closer to the final stages of this book. Its more pages than I have drawn in a long time (40 pages) and has taken longer to get done than usual but I believe that in the end it will surely be worth the wait by Saint fans and fans of my artwork. It's going to be crazy but im working hard to get this baby done before the holidays.

Fandays 2012

Yeppers had a blast at Fandays this year hanging out with Ray Park (Darth Maul, Snake Eyes, Star Wars, G.I.Joe) Lets Go!

Another year to have some great laughs with Kelly Oehlerts Hart im so lucky to know her!

Really enjoyed meeting and sitting next to Sam De la Rosa and getting great Art advice at #Fandays

The one and Only Dead@17 creator Josh Howard!

Had a great time hanging out with the smoothest brother in the game Lawrence Reynolds.

Really enjoying seeing one of my favorite peeps again at this years #fandays the soon to be rich and famous Tyna Marie.

Had my mind on success the whole time!

In-Store at Zues Comics and Collectibles to sign some books for our fans. She is such a trooper!

 

My good friend and artist Kevin Steele made it out to sign some books for his fans as well. 

Kevin is usually so busy it was his first chance to even see his pages in the book.

Samax Amen is always a pleasure to hang out and discuss whats going on in the industry and life I know at some point he has to write that stuff done and publish his best selling advice handbook.

 

I was very eager to meet my fans and friends and couldnt wait to get a chance to say thanks for all of your support.

So today started out like any other Friday for me I get out of bed excited about what ever project I planned to work on today when suddenly I decided to check the shipping info provided the day before by my printers in regards to the Hoodratz In Space books. I immediately noticed that the packages had already been sorted at my local Post Office near my home.

 

I decided to check my front door step and there were two nice size boxes sitting there and I had a good feeling about what would be inside the boxes. I hurried to my office with the boxes and opened the first one and then the second and under the protective paper and wrap I saw for the first time the books I had dreamed about 8 years ago today!

 

"YES!" I shouted and then it hit me that today was in no way like any of the previous Fridays in my life today actually was the birth of the Hoodratz In Space.....

Wow! I am still in disbelief that this is actually happening, after almost 8 years of developement and crazy preparation its finally on its way to the printers. Im not sure if this is the feeling that other creators get when they send thier books to printers but I am speechless right now not to mention exhausted from the many all nighters I just pulled to get this book done.

 

I can't wait to see how they come out I have a good relationship with my printer so im not too worried but as much as I wish I could go out an celebrate i have to get back to work on Marvel sketchcards and finish up Saint 3!
